The DORCAS for Relief and Development Organization in partnership with Light for the World and EDURKANS launched skills for work project in Wau under the theme: ‘Skill for work’.
William Van Rheenen, DORCAS Country Director, says the initiative is to give skills to youth who are not able to get jobs, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
The knowledge can allow young and people with disabilities to have access to the employment market.
Giving skills to youth and vulnerable people is the best tool of changing the economic situation in the nation, says Mary Hilary Wani, Undersecretary of the National Ministry of Labour.
She notes that it is difficult to get jobs leading to worsening of the economic situation in the nation.
Mrs Hillary mentions that the development would only be realized when youth are involved in the labour markets and not in conflicts.
The State Governor Andrea Mayar appreciates efforts of NGOs in helping vulnerable groups in the state and the nation at large.
