SPLA Deputy Spokesperson denies accusations by Ugandan army that SPLA soldiers were involved in the abduction of thirteen South Sudan refugees.

Santo Domic told Radio Bakhita that he got the information on media, but did not confirm since their Ugandan counterpart did not contact them.

He says the accusation is not true since bilateral agreement does not allow SPLA to operate in Uganda’s territory.

The Deputy Spokesperson pointed fingers that SPLA-IO forces carried out the kidnapping to tarnish the image of SPLA since they also dress the same uniform.

On Monday, UPDF Division Spokesperson in Gulu said South Sudan government soldiers crossed into Uganda raided cattle and kidnapped thirteen South Sudanese refugees.
