There is a need for the national government to see why there is continuous increase of prices in markets, says Wau State Minister of Finance.
Akol Majok Rok says the state government has put a lot of efforts to reduce taxes so that prices come down, but there is no improvement, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
The government has also discussed the matter with traders, but no action was taken on what they agreed, the minister recalls.
He notes that the government needs to evaluate the market again to see if it is possible to bring down prices.
Minister Majok discloses that some commodities such as fuel and many others are not taxed, but still their prices increase daily without good reasons.
The national government ordered no taxing of consumable goods, but traders are not complying, the minister points out.
