Yambio Municipal Council in Gbudue State launched a general cleaning campaign under the theme: ‘Keep Yambio town clean’.
Mayor of Yambio, Singira Robert Daniel, says the campaign is to promote hygiene and sanitation to prevent outbreak of cholera and other diseases, Radio Anisa reports.
He urges all business personnel and government institutions to keep their environment clean to avoid the disease.
The Mayor urges people in urban areas to clean their homes, society and have toilets.
James Ezekiel Ndukpo, Yambio County Health Director, urges citizens and traders to keep their community clean to avoid communicable deceases.
He appeals to county authorities to make the campaign continue in Yambio town.
Deputy Chairperson of Chamber of Commerce, John Daniel, appreciates Yambio Municipal authorities for working hand in hand to keep the town clean.
He urges communities and business people to follow the regulation of keeping Yambio town clean.
The campaigns draw together UN Agencies, World Health Organization, Rwanda Battalion, African Union forces and UPDFA, community and traders in Yambio.
