The Commissioner of Torit East County has confirmed that two people died following the shooting at dancing ground in Hiyalla on Tuesday.
Toby Majak Thomas says a civilian and a soldier lost their lives during the last funeral rites’ dance in Hiyala village, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Commissioner Majak says the government is still investigating the matter, although no arrest has been made.
He advises citizens to remain calm and patient to give chance to the government to do its work.
Majak warns communities against carrying guns in public gatherings especially dance places.
The official spoke to Radio Emmanuel on Wednesday in Torit.
