A Member of Gbudue State Legislative Assembly representing Bangasu Constituency urges women to get back to school.
Jennet Bangafu says women have the right to represent and participate in any public affairs, but are not active, Radio Anisa reports.
The MP spoke during a round table discussion on women’s participation in public affairs organized Civil Society Land Alliance supported by Democracy International on Tuesday in Yambio.
She encourages all women to join evening schools so that they can occupy higher positions either in the government or NGOs.
Benjamin Ibako, Alliance Executive Director, says they aim at strengthening women to improve their participation in public affairs.
The roundtable conference attracted 25 people to Yambio Civic Engagement Centre to identify challenges hindering women and overcome issues affecting them.
