Governor of Imotong State calls on citizens to remain calm following Thursday clashes between government and SPLA-IO soldiers in the outskirts of Torit town.
Tobiolo Alberio Oromo advises citizens to carry on with their normal activities as the security situation has returned to normal, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Governor Tobiolo denies any clashes with SPLA-IO, and describes the attackers as highway robbers using SPLA-IO name as a cover to carry on their banditry activities.
Governor Alberio confirms that only one SPLA soldier died during the clashes southwest of Torit.
He denies media reports that 20 SPLA were killed during Wednesday fights in Imotong State.
The Governor was speaking to journalists in his office on Friday.
