Mother of Mercy Hospital is facing it hard to convince people to donate blood to patients who need it in the Nuba Mountains.
Isaac Kodo, Hospital Anesthetist, says they spent a lot of time persuading donors to give blood and also recipient to accept the blood, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
He adds that sometimes donors fail to turn up quickly and some recipients refuse blood transfusion.
Kodo assures recipients of safety of blood, saying they rule out all diseases before transfusion.
He encourages people to leave ignorance and donate blood to the persons in need in order to save lives.
The Anesthetist says though it is difficult, they save some blood in the bank for emergency through schools and community mobilization.
Kodo encourages people to have heart of helping others.
He was speaking to Radio Voice of Peace during International Blood Donation Day which is celebrated on Wednesday.
