Health manager for the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio on Tuesday held a public lecture to the staff of the secretariat on Hepatitis B disease.
John Gbono says the lecture was to create awareness among staff in different institutions of the Diocese, Radio Anisa reports.
He reveals that the lecture will also help the staff to know how to protect themselves and minimize the risk of getting the disease.
Dr Gbono expects that after the lecture the fear of Hepatitis B in staff will disappear.
Not all cases of Hepatitis are treatable, but there is a certain stage that needs treatment, he notes.
The manager mentions that Hepatitis is similar to HIV because it needs only medical treatment.
He encourages people having Hepatitis to listen to advices of doctors because there are ways that can make some people live longer.
Dr Gbono urges people running hair salons to make sure that they sterilize their shaving machines to avoid spread of the virus.
Tombura/Yambio Catholic Diocesan Human Resource Officer appreciates the health manager for creating awareness of staff on Hepatitis B and other diseases.
