South Sudan Urban Water Corporation to increase production in Juba

South Sudan Urban Water Corporation plans to increase production to seven million liters per day in order to reach a wide network of households in Juba.
 
Engineer Lawrence Muludyang, Director-General for Planning and Projects at the Corporation, says Japan International Cooperation Agency or JICA donated a new generator to boost daily output, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
He calls on government to provide fuel to the Corporation in order to meet its daily production target.
 
JICA Public Relations Advisor, Atong De Mach, says the donation was part of technical cooperation agreement signed with the Urban Water Corporation.
 
She calls for peace to minimize water borne and other diseases for development to continue in the country.
 
Sophia Pal Gai, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, says inadequate funding from the government affected services delivery at the Urban Water Corporation.
 
She calls on development partners to support the water sector in South Sudan.
 
JICA has been implementing a project for construction of water distribution system in Juba and also building capacity of the staff of the Urban Water Corporation.
