The new Police Commissioner says theft and adultery are the main problems he found in Tonj during his two weeks in office.

James Madut explains that they formed operation force to crack down criminals who used to break shops and houses and loot people’s property, Radio Don Bosco reports.

The commissioner says the force has reduced the rate of theft in the state for the last seven days.

Those apprehended while attempting to break doors at night are usually brought to the police custody and released in the morning after warning, the commissioner notes.

The police take personal details of criminals and keep them for reference in case the police meet the same people at night so that they face severe punishment, he adds.

The Police Commissioner observes that youth are the majority in all crimes he registered.

He attributes crimes in the state to economic crisis biting the whole country.
