The faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Yei will Saturday gather to commemorate the first anniversary of Sister Veronika Teresa Rackova, says Secretary-General.
Fr Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit says it is a very significant event in the journey of faith that will remind people of her great capacity to be in holiness, Radio Easter reports.
Recognizing the services of the fallen Sister and Doctor in the Diocese will renew and strengthen faith, love, unity and solidarity with each other, he stresses.
Sister Veronika Teresa Rackova was shot by night patrollers two miles away on Maridi road in 2016 while driving St Bakhita Health Centre ambulance to rescue two mothers on delivery.
The Nun, who was the Medical Director of St Bakhita in Yei Catholic Diocese, died in pain in the line of duty serving the poor of South Sudan.
