‘There is no cause of alarm’, Yei Governor assures civilians

There is no cause of fear, the Governor of Yei River assures the people of state.
 
David Lokonga Moses urges the civil population to remain calm and continue with their normal activities, Radio Easter reports.
 
He spoke after heavy gunshots erupted in the outskirts of Yei town in the morning hours of Tuesday leaving the civil population in panic and fear.
 
The governor also stresses that people should leave hatred, avoid depending on rumours and focus on building peace in the state.
 
People of Yei were preparing to commemorate 34th anniversary of Army Day, but were cut short by the fighting that erupted in Kegulu SPLA base and later extended to some parts of Yei.
