The Governor of Tonj State on Monday instructed the armed forces in the area not to shoot guns on May 16 as a sign of happiness to avoid wounding innocent people.
 
Akech Tong Aleu says the celebration is every year to remember heroes and heroines who fought for the freedom of South Sudan, Radio Don Bosco reports.
 
The Governor reminds that sixteenth May is the day when SPLA took arm against Khartoum government to liberate the nation.
 
SPLM Information Secretary, Arop Mark Mayol, expresses that security agents will be patrolling to ensure that violators of the orders are arrested.
 
He reveals sharing the information with all heads of organized forces in the state.
