China donates two million Pounds to combat famine in South Sudan

The Chinese Government has donated two million South Sudanese Pounds to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
 
Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan He Xiangdong, told Journalists on Tuesday that the donation will be for humanitarian aid to areas affected by the famine.
 
Xiangdong says China has pledged humanitarian aid worth 25 million US dollars which will soon arrive in the country.
 
However, Hussein Mar Nyuot, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has promised to take the money to the affected areas.
 
South Sudan conflict has created one of the world’s biggest humanitarian crises with more than one million people forced to the neighboring countries and nearly two million others internally displaced.
 
Another six million people, half of the country’s population is severely food insecure, according to the UN.
