The Chairman of the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangement Monitoring Mechanism, CTSAMM says all reports indicate that civilians are still being targeted by warring parties.

Maj Gen Molla Hailemariam says the report include the burning of over one thousand houses in Yei River State.

It proves that the parties have failed to respect the ceasefire, he adds.

SPLA Deputy Spokesperson, Santo Domic denies the reports; accusing opposition forces of attacking civilians.

Bakhita Radio could not contact the opposition to verify the accusation.

CTSAMM was established in 2015, following the signing of the agreement on the Resolution of the conflict in South Sudan.

The peace agreement stipulates that the CTSAMM shall be responsible of monitoring and verifying the implementation of the permanent Ceasefire.

It is also responsible for the Transitional Security Arrangements.
