Bishop says languages identify people

The Episcopal Bishop in Yei River State says a language identifies where someone belongs to.
 
That is why the government has realized the importance of teaching local languages, Radio Easter reports.
 
Bishop Hillary Luate Adeba says there are various languages which constitute a nation.
 
He advises people to know their languages.
 
The Republic of Congo plans to open primary and secondary schools for French language in Yei, Jubek and Gbude states, says Jacob Aligo Lo-ladu, Education State Minister.
 
He is concerned that the foreign languages will overtake the locals because the states will be exposed to many languages.
 
The officials were speaking while closing Bari teachers’ workshop on Literacy Numeracy and National Languages at ECSS guest House in Yei.
