The new Eastern Lakes Minister of Health appeals to partners to support their fight against cholera outbreak in the state.
Miriam Paul Jibi in a phone interview to Radio Good News on Thursday says the state lacks money to improve health infrastructure.
There is also lack of qualified personnel and vehicles for outreach, she adds.
The minister says Eastern Lakes is served by the former county Health Center and that there is need for a state hospital to improve services to the population.
Ms Jibi says her main priority will be to build the state ministry of Health premises.
She observes that women and children are the most affected people by the outbreak of chorea and other diseases in hard to access areas in villages.
Eastern Lakes’ government on Thursday swore in new cabinet including Deputy Governor Nhial Enock Cahoc, Miriam Paul Jibi for Health Ministry and Philip Kot Job for the Local Government Ministry.
Other ministers include Madol Chuot Chap, Minister of Education, George Kulang Minister of Agriculture, Bec George Minister of Finance, Majak Makur, Minister of Information and Dhieu Wal Takpiny Minister of Infrastructure.
