The Governor of Yei River State says the government has approved phase two of the peace deal with the armed opposition in the area.
Earlier this week, Evangelical Presbyterian Bishop Elias Taban says they were in neighboring Uganda mediating between the government and the opposition to make peace.
The peace deal was supported by the US-based organization, His Voice Global.
David Lokonga Moses told Radio Bakhita on Tuesday that the armed groups have agreed to stop hostilities in the state.
This week, opposition forces loyal to former First Vice President Riek Machar Teny announced that they have captured Bazi and Kimba areas in Morobo County.
But, the Governor denied the allegation.
