SSuNDE launches security situation report in Juba

The South Sudanese Network for Democracy and Elections or SSuNDE is expected to launch its report on public opinion survey on security situation in Juba.
 
In a statement CRN saw, SSuNDE says it has conducted a public opinion survey on citizens’ perception of the security situation in Juba, between end of December 2016 and end of March 2017.
 
With the help of 40 data collectors, it interviewed over 1,500 respondents across Juba, analyzed and compiled into a report, says SSuNDE.
 
It continues that the report also contains recommendations on what the government should do to improve the security situation in Juba and around the country.
 
The report indicates that fifty nine percent of citizens characterized the security situation as being either good or very good between the end of December 16 and end of March 2017.
 
Sixty percent believes the security situation in Juba has become better.
 
While eighty five percent believe gun violence has decreased and eighty percent considers night robberies in Juba have also reduced.
 
Nearly seventy percent of respondents recommend that seized guns should not be returned to civilians and unauthorized soldiers.
 
While eighty percent suggests the government to control weapons and ammunition in store to ensure sanity and serenity.
