Authorities of Jonglei have appealed to the United Nations to reconsider its decision of withdrawing staff from the state.
Minister of Information, Akeny Dengdit, told Bakhita Radio on Thursday that the state is urging the leadership of UN to discuss with greater Jonglei leaders issues causing insecurity in the area.
He says the withdrawal of UN staff will worsen the current hunger situation the state is facing.
Dengdit is calling on the security personnel to play their role in stabilizing the situation in the state.
According to UN Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan in Juba, 60 aid workers were evacuated from Jonglei state due to insecurity.
