The community of Amdrafi area in Heiban County in the Nuba Mountains on Saturday held traditional dances with a call for peace in the region.
Ibrahim Badur, head of community traditional group explained that they carry out some rituals and ask God to help and bring good fortunes to the area, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
He sayid another aim is to educate the young generation about the importance of keeping their cultural dances.
Hassan Modoo, Mayor of Amdrafi said that children are almost losing their traditions and cultures due to the changing world.
The event attracted some government officials, school children and many people from the area.
