Easter season is a period of good news and releases frustration after the killing of Jesus Christ, says Catholic Bishop of Tombura/Yambio.
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala preached on Easter Monday that the reason of coming together as a community is to rejoice and exchange the good news of the risen Lord, Radio Anisa reports.
He says the intension of organizing Easter Monday bicycle cycling and peace marathon was to instil in young people the desire to build their ability to do extremely well.
Bishop Hiiboro encourages those who participated in the cycling competition and the marathon to continue practicing to succeed.
He recalls that last year some people were given tool boxes and that they have opened garage.
Bishop Hiiboro promises that people this year will be given farming tools to boost agricultural productivity.
Gbudue State Governor, Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa describes the occasion as a very touching event.
He observes that the life of the people of Gbudue State has been restored.
Governor Badagbu believes participating in occasions builds confidence and resilience among people, self-esteem and brings them together.
He adds that the activities narrow the gap of hatred and bring love.
Governor Badagbu declares the occasion to be celebrated every year and promises to support the initiative of Easter Monday.
The bicycle ride and peace marathon were initiated by Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese.
