Reject violence and ethnic division and embrace unity among people, Executive Director of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization of CEPO urges South Sudan youth.

Edmund Yakani says lack of economic empowerment has encouraged youth to be influenced by politicians to engage in violent activities, Radio Bakhita reports.

Youth should disassociate themselves from divisive politics and work for the common good of the country, he adds.

The aim of the consultative meeting was to activate young people’s unity to build trust among South Sudanese, says Puot Gatluel, Chairperson of Greater Upper Nile Youth Network for Peace and Reconciliation.

He discloses a plan to seek open places to discuss problems affecting youth in the region.

The officials spoke during a one-day roundtable forum on peace and conflict resolution among youth of Upper Nile region on Thursday in Juba.
