Juba Teaching Hospital successfully operated twenty obstetric fistula cases on Wednesday, says Surgeon General Consultant.
Chan Deng Malual told Radio Bakhita that the operations are a response to free fistula campaign in the country.
He says national and foreign specialists are carrying out different categories of operations in the Hospital.
Mary Akun Awan, one of the women affected by fistula, is hopeful that she will recover fully after the operation.
Last week, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with United Nations Population Fund launched a campaign at Juba Teaching Hospital to end fistula in the country.
The campaign targets 40 obstetric fistula cases in Juba and Aweil within two weeks.
