Jonglei State Ministry of Health registered nearly two hundred cholera infections and twenty-nine death cases since the outbreak in February, says Minister.

Angok Gordon told Radio Bakhita on Friday that most of the cases came from remote villages along the River Nile and cattle camps.

He attributes the rise to lack of clean drinking water and poor sanitation in rural communities.

South Sudan has declared cholera outbreak for the third year in a row since 2014.

World Health Organization report of March says 4,500 cholera cases including 81 deaths have been reported in nine states of South Sudan since the declaration of the outbreak in July 2016.
