The Humanitarian Coordinator for South Sudan has strongly condemned the killing of six aid workers in an ambush on Juba-Pibor road on Saturday.

Eugene Owusu in statement CRN got on Monday says it is entirely unacceptable that those who are trying to help are being attacked and killed.

Attacks against aid workers and assets will put their lives at risk and also threaten lives of thousands of South Sudanese who rely on assistance for their survival, he points out.

He calls for safety and security of aid workers to continue providing relief to civilians across this country.

The Coordinator demands the perpetrators be held accountable and end the impunity.

Owusu sends his ‘deepest condolences’ to the families, friends and colleagues of those killed.

He pleads to all authorities to step up to their responsibilities and stop attacks.
