Church leaders from former Western Equatoria State are undergoing five-day training on conflict and analysis in Yambio, Gbudue State.
Episcopal Bishop Samuel Enosa Peni of Nzara Diocese says the training is to strengthen their capacity.
He adds that they discussed with South Sudan Council of Churches in collaboration with Catholic Relief Service or CRS to bring Church leaders from the six counties to learn, Radio Anisa reports.
Bishop Enosa adds that the leaders will also share ideas and work together.
He says the training will help the Church leaders on how they will contribute in bringing peace to Western Equatoria and South Sudan at large.
To work for sustainable peace, needs skills of analyzing conflict and how to address it peacefully, he adds.
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kusala of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio thanks the Inter-Church Committee for organizing the workshop.
He says it is time for action to move forward.
Pia Philip Michael, Gbudue Education Minister asks participants to speak against gender based violence and other malpractices.
He believes the social ills are letting the communities behind.
Philip encourages Churches to continue keeping people together in Christ though Western Equatoria region has been divided in to four States.
The training drew Church leaders from Olo Diocese, Maridi, Ibba, Yambio, Nzara, Ezo and Tombura.
