Army Commander in Agok is requesting state authorities to urgently deploy police in the area to keep law and order.

Tom Tayin believes the army cannot do the work of police to deal with criminals, Voice of Hope reports.

Peter Monylat, chief of the area also appeals to the commissioner and the mayor to persuade UN agencies to extend their support to his people.

Fr Arkangelo Peter appeals to the government to provide the army with food.

Michael Ricardo Ugali, Kpaile County Commissioner assures people that he received two tractors from the Ministry of Agriculture ready for farmers to use.

He says hunger is the biggest enemy in the state which needs collective efforts to fight.

Ricardo says the army will be given space to cultivate to avoid the temptation of looting civilians.

Mel Aleu, Wau Town Mayor, says they will do what they can to ensure police are deployed in the area.

It is unlawful to allow cattle destroy people’s crops, Aleu points out.
