IGAD parliamentary meeting commences in Juba

A two-day summit of inter-parliamentary union of IGAD members’ states has started in Juba, bringing legislators from the eight countries of the regional bloc.
 
Secretary General of the union, Mohamed Adam Mohamed Ismail says the meeting aims at addressing issues of peace, environmental protection and immigration, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
Anthony Lino Makana, Speaker of the South Sudan transitional assembly calls on the humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the conflict affected people.
 
South Sudan is hosting the 10th executive council after Uganda hosted it in September 2016.
