Consultant of Caritas South Sudan is in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio evaluating the projects.

Samuel Martin says they evaluate project in which Caritas South Sudan funded in the Diocese, Radio Anisa reports.

He reveals that the purpose of the funding was to respond to the conflict-affected people in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio.

The Consultant says the Diocese was given funds to support internal displaced people or IDPs and provide some medical supplies to St Teresa Nzara Hospital.

Caritas South Sudan wants to follow up and see if any impact was made as a result of that response, the Consultant adds.

Martin mentions peace, humanitarian aid, health, water and sanitation as some of their activities implemented because the church believes that development and spiritual affairs go hand in hand.

The official says Caritas South Sudan support to the Diocese helps them to understand the impact and training to the staff so that they can be able to deliver services.

Insecurity in the country is affecting Caritas work because it prevents them from moving to some parts where they operate, he regrets.

Caritas South Sudan gets funds from its sister organizations of Caritas Austria, Caritas Germany and Caritas Internationalis.
