Choirs in the Church should sing liturgical songs that give praise to God and honor to him, says Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio.
 
The five-day training aims to equip the youth on quality singing and recording songs, Radio Anisa reports.
 
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala in his opening remarks, advises the choirs from the 22 parishes to keep the traditions of singing songs with clear tunes and meanings.
 
He says Catholic Church worldwide sing songs that restore its traditions including local musical instruments among others.
 
Fr Gamboripai William Abbas,, Diocesan Youth Chaplain, says they have invited 66 choirs to Yambio to prepare themselves before Easter celebration.
 
He comments that Easter is the very important feast in the Catholic Church and for all Christians as Jesus Christ suffered, killed and rose to save the world.
 
Diocesan Counselor Fr Ezekiel Sungerukuari James quotes St Augustine as saying when you sing you pray twice.
 
Joseph Salvatore Nzaku, a retired priest advised the choirs to compose church songs driven from the Bible to have clear meaning.
 
Choirs group is one of the apostolic groups in Tombura/Yambio with many members who dedicated themselves to sing liturgical songs and other activities in the Church.
