Wau State joins the rest of the world to celebrate International Women Day at the Ministry of Education.
Ann Daniel, Director for Gender at the ministry, says occasion is very important because it allows women to come together to discuss their issues, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
She acknowledges that wide gaps still exist between women and men in education and economic.
Daniel calls on the government to provide loans to women to enable them do business to support their families.
Winnie Babahoga, UNMISS State Coordinator, urges school girls to be discipline to achieve their goals.
She appreciates the state government for considering women and giving them a ministry and beliefs more position shall be given to females.
Governor Andrea Mayar Acho urges school girls to study hard and be courageous in order to achieve their dreams.
He says the state government is working hard to restore peace and stability in Wau town.
The governor was speaking during the celebration of international women day in the state ministry of education on Thursday morning in Wau.
