The Emeritus Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Torit says he will only play spiritual role in the national dialogue.

Bishop Paride Taban expresses willingness to meet the committee on important issues, Radio Bakhita reports.

He submitted his pardon letter to President Salva Kiir this week to excuse himself from the position of the chairperson of National Dialogue Committee.

Bishop Taban also promises to contribute effectively to prayers and fasting for peace in South Sudan.

He urges all South Sudanese to support the initiative.

Emeritus Bishop Paride Taban and Professor Moses Machar Kachuol were appointed co-chairs to the committee of the dialogue expected to be sworn in this month.
