WFP urges government to support school feeding program

The UN World Food Program or WFP calls on the South Sudan government to embrace feeding of school children in order to increase enrolment.
 
WFP Deputy Country Director Hakan Falkell calls on the government to establish a reliable feeding program all over the country, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
He says an effective program would improve learning and health of children.
 
WFP is currently giving food to 300 thousand children in 600 schools throughout South Sudan this year, reveals the Country Director.
 
Meanwhile Education Minister Deng Deng Hoc calls on parents and development partners to contribute resources to expand the school feeding program.
 
He pledges to form a ministerial committee to implement the program.
 
South Sudan on Wednesday celebrated the African Day of School Feeding.
