The Catholic Bishop of Yei Diocese urges humanitarian organizations to support the suffering citizens who are trapped in the area.

Erkolano Lodu Tombe says people are hungry and afraid to harvest their produce because they are either killed or arrested, Radio Easter reports.

He calls on the World Food Programme or WFP and partners to continue helping the people of Yei.

Bishop Lodu believes that hunger will only end if the South Sudanese leaders commit to peace.

The Bishop was speaking at Christ the King Cathedral on Wednesday.
