IOM provides shelters and health aid to IDPs in South Sudan’s volatile areas

International Organization for Migration or IOM is providing shelters and health services to Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs in South Sudan’s risky areas.
 
IOM, in coordination with Mercy Corps is also distributing non-food items to 9,400 IDPs in Nyal, Panyijiar County of Unity State.
 
The distribution runs from late February to early March.
 
The agency in statement says the items include blankets, nylon and rubber rope, plastic sheets, clothes and bags.
 
IOM rapid response team completed a five-week mission on February 23 to provide health services to 30 thousand IDPs in Ajio, Kerwa and Logo of Kajo-Keji County.
 
Families ran from their homes with nothing, says IOM Health Rapid Response Team Coordinator Derebe Kintamo.
 
The official adds that IOM clinics are screening increasing cases of malnutrition among children under the age of five.
