Yei River State on Wednesday announced the results of 2016 Primary Eight Leaving Examinations.
Amule Flex, the State Education Director-General says Yei emerged one of the best performers with 85 percent pass amidst conflict, Radio Easter reports.
Meanwhile, the first Director-General, Amos Longa Modi describes the results as great achievement.
He appreciates all stakeholders for supporting education as the future of the country lies in the school children.
Jacob Aligo Lo Lodu, the Acting Education Minster says the national crisis dropped candidates’ enrolment from 9,536 to 2,611.
27.4 percent of the registered candidates only sat for the exams, he regrets.
EPC Nehemiah Primary School has taken the first position in the state, he declares.
The Primary Eight candidates sat for the examinations in December 2016.
