The Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio trained St Joseph Maigbaangaru Parish and ECSSS choir groups on sexual gender-based violence and spiritual life.

Kumbonyaki Patrick, youth chairperson, says young people from the two denominations learnt from the life of St Don Bosco and effects of bad practices, Radio Anisa reports.

He says they were also taught how to raise up children to be good citizens and God fearing people.

Participants urge other fellow youth to join the groups in the church and avoid too much drinking.

In other related development, MP Patrick Kpakana offered his two daughters to serve St Joseph Maigbaangaru Catholic Church.

He reveals that the security situation in the area is relatively calm and that citizens should return home.

Sub-chief of Mukong in Yambio County of Gbudue State, Angelo Ndende, urges the choir groups to be role models to others by doing good deeds.

He says youth have to demonstrate to their communities the good character that they learnt from the church.

The chief calls on everybody to respect the churches in everything they do.

He advises young people to go to school this year because it is the only gun that can fight poverty.
