President Salva Kiir’s order to execute rapists in Yei might have negative effects on individuals who are not in line with rape cases, a civil society activist analyzes.
Rajab Mohandis, Executive Director for South Sudan Network for Democratic Elections SSuNDE, says some individuals will wrongly use the order to violate other’s rights, Radio Bakhita reports.
Director suggests that it would be better if judicial systems are set up to ensure following correct procedures.
He urges the government to put measures to control the violation of the order.
The activist urges President Kiir to keep regular visits to other parts of the country in order to collect people’s views and make decisions on matters that concern people.
