Yei declares Monday public holiday marking 100 years of Christianity

Yei River State declared Monday a public holiday to mark the 100 anniversary of Christianity in South Sudan.
 
State Information Minister, Stephen Lado Onesimo says the public holiday was declared to enable citizens attend the occasion, Radio Easter reports.
 
Hundreds of Christians and senior government officials including President Salva Kiir attended the event in Yei.
 
The ceremony marked 100 years since the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan was established in 1917.
