The Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan or ECSSS Diocese of Yei has concluded a two-day peace building workshop for leaders.

Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul says the training aims at making pastors agents of change for peace in South Sudan, Radio Easter reports.

He explains that the role of pastors in bringing peace to the country is mobilizing communities to be neutral to government and armed opposition forces.

Archbishop Deng says he is surprised that conflict and suffering have hit Yei yet it was seen as a shining example of peaceful co-existence.

The Archbishop urges church leaders to be real shepherds.

Do not run away from your flock at times of conflict, Archbishop Deng challenges church leaders.

He urges South Sudanese to be united as one people.

The leader says he is embarrassed to be an archbishop of conflicting South Sudanese people.

He blames increasing displacement and fleet to refuge on media spread of rumours.

Archbishop Deng made the remarks during the conclusion of two-day workshop focusing on restoration of hope in the country.

The largest population of Yei, Morobo, Lainya and Kajo-Keji has fled to Uganda for refuge.
