The United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS Civil Affairs is conducting a one-day civil-military forum on the roles of military and civilian in the nation.
Geetha Pious, Civil Affairs Officer in Central Equatoria, says the Mission thought better for the civil population to discuss their grievances with the army.
She says the forum will create peaceful coexistence as Yei River State experienced a lot of insecurity last year.
Jackson Abugo Gama, State Political Advisor, says the reason for the forum is to strengthen the military-civilians’ relations
The forum brought together youth, elders, organized forces, women, chiefs, government officials and the civil population.
