Kurumba Secondary School in the Nuba Mountains has raised fifty-three thousand Pounds, 550 US Dollars and other materials including agricultural land for the school.
According to Radio Voice of Peace, head teacher Majdi Omar says the fundraising program started since December during the closing of the academic year.
He describes the program as successful and encouraging.
Omar mentions that they could not cover all parts of Heiban County due to lack of transport.
He appreciates communities of Heiban and Dalamy Counties for their support.
The head teacher says they will use the money and the materials for improving the school accommodation and environment.
He says the next step is to move to Umdoeren County to mobilize more support.
Omar thanks all authorities and communities in the Nuba Mountains and his students for standing firm to improve their school.
