The recent fighting that erupted in Rocrocdong County, Wau Sate has displaced thousands of people to Jebel Teak area of Nyikijo Payam.
Asunta Abuk Lam, one of the IDPs, says they do not know the cause of fighting, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
‘A group of armed men just came to our village and started accusing us of being rebels’, she adds.
She regrets that many young men were killed.
Abuk appeals to Wau State government to intervene to rescue lives of innocent civilians and their property.
Wol Uchang, one of the youth, says they were asked by unidentified armed group to join them.
He says they were accused of being rebels making life difficult for them to harvest their crops in farms.
Governor of Wau State, Andrea Mayar Acho, assures IDPs of government’s commitment to protect civilians and their properties.
He adds that state authorities deployed forces to protect people and property, but only few elements are causing chaos among communities.
Governor Mayar was addressing IDPs at Jebel Teak in Nyikijo Payam over the weekend.
