Eight houses were completely destroyed by fire last week in Kalkada Village of Kumbur Payam in the Nuba Mountains.
Some children set fire in the absence of adults, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
The fire nearly burnt up four sleeping children.
Fortunately neighbours rescued the children.
Salwa Kariff, one of those whose houses were damaged says she lost several property and money.
Eliah Musa Lalo, another victim says they lost many things to the fire.
He says four sheep were burnt, seven beds and 17 chickens among other things.
Musa explains that whatever comes can sometimes be beyond human control and that people should always put God first.
The incident happened when all adults of the village had gone to work.
Most belongings were reduced to ashes.
