The Catholic Bishop of Yei on Sunday condemned the burning of houses in Lutaya area of Yei River County.
According to Radio Easter, the houses burned include Lutaya Pastoral Centre of the Catholic Diocese which was reduced to ashes.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe asks the state government to arrest the soldiers who burnt down the area to face the law.
The Catholic prelate holds the army responsible for burning down the area and and that they will account for every loss.
The Diocese lost six parishes including St Joseph, Assumption, St Augustine, Holy Family, Holy Trinity and St Peter due to the unrest in the state, Bishop Lodu regrets.
The Diocesan Pastoral Centre is located in St Joseph’s Parish Lutaya at Yei Aba road.
