Rumbek communities in United States of America are mourning and consoling the family of former Chief Justice John Wuol Makech who died in Juba.
Angelo Mangar Maker in Virginia sends his heartfelt condolences to his immediate family and the entire community of Rumbek and greater Lakes region, Radio Good News reports.
‘I was one of the blessed individuals to spend four hours with him in residence lecturing and guiding us on the issues affecting Rumbek community during our Diaspora Peace Team’, he adds.
Maker describes the late Wuol as a man of principle who had serve people of South Sudan by standing against giving the president more powers.
Another Rumbek citizen in US, Justin Maker, said South Sudan has lost an icon, a man of law, a thinker who is fair and believe in justice and liberty for all.
He said the late Wuol was an expert of Dinka customary law which is one of the best references used worldwide by famous universities.
Rumbek community Chairman in USA, Kaman Awad Makuer, said South Sudan has lost a great leader, an icon of justice and equality.
‘His legacy will forever remain the scar in our hearts’, Awad explains.
Preparations for the burial of late John Wuol Makec are underway.
