Come to help citizens of South Sudan from suffering, the new President of Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference or SCBC appeals to the international community.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala urges the world nations to help the country as they help it to get the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, CANAA reports.
He appeals to the countries that have accepted to host those who have fled the conflict in South Sudan.
‘Let the international community not wait to come and count how many people have died’, says the Bishop.
The armed men are the ones controlling the country and people cannot move freely and it is difficult for civilians to do their normal duties, he stresses.
Bishop Hiiboro adds that there is no enough money to run services including health, education and that humanitarian assistance is a big issue.
A lot of people now have no food and many have left their own homes to refugee camps because of the conflict and people hear bad stories about them, he explains.
There is huge mistrust among people, divisions, hatred and a breakdown of law and order in South Sudan, the Bishop points out.
