Women in Yei are calling on both the government and the armed opposition to dialogue and bring peace to end the suffering of South Sudanese.

More than thirty women participated in a one-day dialogue to share their experiences since fresh clashes broke out last year, Radio Easter reports.

The state government, Yei Women Association with support from UNMISS organized the dialogue.

They complain of displacement, disruption of children from going to school, no cultivation, lack of drugs and hunger due to the conflict.

Hawa Adams, Acting Chairlady of Yei County Women Association, calls for women participation in the peace process.

Jackson Abugo Gama, State Advisor on Political Affairs, observes that women are peace makers.

The women who were selected from churches, schools, business places and communities thank UNMISS and the government for the dialogue.
